Community Service

“Service to others” is an important part of our mission statement. We encourage our students and families to engage in community service projects, and each class adopts a special project. This year, ECS received a SELCO grant to underwrite the “Generations in Reading” program where our students take books to Emerald Valley Assisted Living and read with the elderly. Our students and the seniors have become friends and the folks look forward to their weekly visits.

ECS also participates in the Operation Christmas Child project with the organization, Samaritan’s Purse. This year nearly 100 shoe boxes were filled and wrapped by our students and delivered to the distribution site.

Other class and student projects include: writing to soldiers on active duty, pajama collection for homeless families, creating gift sacks for Jubilee Prison Ministry, food boxes for families in need, and participating in the Global Day of Prayer and Service.

"Therefore, as we have opportunity, let us do good to all people…” Galatians 6:10
