Tutoring
Beginning in the fall of 2008, an on-site tutor was hired to help students who may be struggling with a certain lesson or a particular subject skill. Individual and group sessions are offered depending on the needs of students. Teachers, parents, or the students themselves may request tutoring. Students are first evaluated using the DIBELS (Dynamic Indicators of Basic Early Literacy Skills) tests in reading fluency and comprehension. In math, particular skills are evaluated on an individual basis. The students are then placed in an appropriate small group (1-5 students) to review and practice the skills needed until mastery has been achieved.
